Elise vazelakis
My practice is one of accumulation of objects that are in my environment as a way of record keeping and documentation of things left behind. In this body of work I collected the plastic left by the construction crews that were rebuilding my home after it was destroyed in the 2018 woolsey fire. The fiber in this piece is knitted reclaimed yarn that I sourced from thrift store sweaters.
